Genetic links in Multiple Sclerosis - The National
Register of MS Families
This research is being undertaken and coordinated by Dr Rex Simmons.
The aim is to identify what genetic factors may play a part in an individuals
susceptibility to developing MS. Australian MS researchers recently started
an Australian National Register of Multiple Sclerosis Families to enable
genetic studies of MS susceptibility. This register, located at Canberra
Hospital, aims to include all people in Australia with a confirmed MS
diagnosis and who also have a living relative with MS.
