MSL's Response to COVID-19

At MSL, we are doing the best we can to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone we work with and for. Together, we can get through these challenges and collectively recover from the impacts of COVID-19. More than ever, we are here so no one faces MS and these challenging times alone.

Are the MSL offices still open?

Yes, all our offices are open across all jurisdictions.

Our MS Gym and Lidcombe offices are open for face-to-face services for fully vaccinated clients. The Gloria McKerrow House in ACT has reopened for one-on-one face-to-face sessions by appointment only. MS offices in Tasmania remain open.

MSL is operating under a comprehensive COVID Safe plan to minimise risks for everyone we work with and for.

We are committed to following the advice from state and federal health authorities to minimise risks of COVID infection across our premises. All our sites are using QR codes as sign-in mechanisms, so we can keep COVID safe. Please contact our team to find out more.

Is the MSL team still providing services to clients?

Yes, since COVID-19 started, our organisation has fully adapted to new ways of working to ensure we can keep supporting the MS community, despite any challenges.

We have been following the advice from state and federal health authorities and have a comprehensive COVID Safe plan to ensure we can provide support and services in a safe manner.

Our team can provide services face-to-face, on the phone or through Telehealth. The services we offer include:

  • Employment Support Services
  • NDIS Services (Support Coordination, Continence Service, assessment and treatment for Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy)
  • Information and advice through MS Connect and MS Advisor
  • Wellbeing and Education programs
  • Peer to Peer support

Our three MS residential homes remain open but are operating under strict infection control guidelines to minimise risk of coronavirus spread and to protect the health of residents, their families and our team members.

If you require support or would like more information about available services, contact us.

Can I still participate in fundraising events and activities?

Due to COVID restrictions and lockdowns some of events had to be postponed or cancelled. With restrictions now easing our much loved in-person events will be back in 2022. For more information about upcoming events, check our events and fundraising page. Now more than ever, donations are very welcome so we can keep supporting people to live well with MS.

Are the MS Community Shops open?

Yes, all our shops have been up and running most of the year, excepting during lockdowns as per state government guidelines. For more information check our MS Community Shops page or follow our MS Community Shops on Facebook and Instagram.

How can the organisation help me stay connected and supported during COVID?

Our team is producing a series of resources to support you through these challenging times, and these are available on this page.

We will do our best to keep you informed about the still evolving COVID situation. In the meantime, if you need support or advice, please contact our MS Connect team.
