National Disability Insurance SchemeThe NDIS is a new way of providing individualised support and services for eligible people living with a permanent and significant impairment. Hundreds of people affected by multiple sclerosis are accessing NDIS-funded support and services across Australia.

We're here to keep you informed about NDIS developments, help you understand what this means for you and help you prepare for entry into the scheme.

We also have several publications if you want to dive deeper into the background, tools to help you prepare for your conversation with the National Disability Insurance Agency, stories of those who are already participants of the scheme, and answers to your common questions.

Our MS NDIS Services

We are registered to provide a number of NDIS services:

MS Support Coordination and Connection is all about making your NDIS plan active. Many people find it challenging to implement the support and services included in their plans.

The NDIS may provide funding for Support Coordination or Connection to help you put your plan into action and strengthen your ability to manage your own plan in the long term.

  • Support Coordination is more in-depth support, often face-to-face, includes more hours of working together and tends to be for more complex needs.
  • Support Connection is more focused on supporting you to manage your plan independently, is usually delivered over the phone, and includes less hours.

You should discuss this at your planning conversation. You get to choose your own Support Coordinator or Connector. This comes under the ‘Coordination of Supports’ support cluster.

MS physiotherapy assessment is all about developing strategies to better manage your symptoms, improve your mobility and to be as independent as possible.

We start this process with a specialist neurological assessment.

This assessment comes under the ‘Activities of daily living’ support cluster.

MS occupational therapy assessment is all about supporting you to be as independent as possible, and to keep participating at home, work and socially.

This includes developing strategies and using the right equipment or home modifications to support you in all the everyday things you want to do. We can also train you to use your new equipment.

This assessment comes under the ‘Activities of daily living’ support cluster.

MS continence assessment is all about looking into what products, treatments and other strategies will help you take control of your bowel and bladder issues.

This assessment comes under the ‘Activities of daily living’ support cluster. Our specialist continence facilities are based in our Blackburn VIC and Lidcombe NSW offices. → Are you continence ready for NDIS?

To access any of these services please contact MS Connect on 1800 042 138 or msconnect@ms.org.au and we can provide extra information, explain what to ask for in your plan and help you get started.
