Understanding MS: An Introduction for People Living with MS supports people living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

The Understanding MS: An Introduction for People Living with MS brochure aims to educate people with MS and their families about multiple sclerosis, the emotions and feelings they may experience at diagnosis, and to help them understand that they can live well with multiple sclerosis.

This guide was developed in collaboration with MS health professionals and in partnership with people living with MS.

This guide aims to: 

  • provide reliable introduction information about multiple sclerosis
  • increase your understanding of various treatment and therapeutic strategies that will enable you to proactively collaborate with your healthcare team
  • assist you to understand the brain health perspective on MS and how you can embrace a brain healthy lifestyle
  • share where you can access trusted information, research, support and advice, now and into the future.

Understanding MS delivers the empowering message that a person can live well, despite multiple sclerosis, through the management options available. The booklet also contains information about multiple sclerosis and how we can assist people with multiple sclerosis. 

Understanding MS is a resource produced by our National peak body, MS Australia (MSA).
