Sometimes multiple sclerosis can impact on a person’s ability to work. We’re here to support people living with multiple sclerosis to maintain employment or find a suitable job.

Our MS Employment Consultants understand multiple sclerosis, and this specialist advice is what makes our service so unique. We understand that some symptoms seem invisible to others, but they can making working difficult. We have a number of strategies for coping with these impacts that may help you maintain your employment or seek new employment.

Maintaining current employment

We may be able to help you maintain employment if you’re currently working but your multiple sclerosis is impacting on your ability work. We can provide assistance and advice in and outside the workplace to help you maintain your employment.

Fatigue is one of the biggest reasons people leave their employment. It may be as simple as taking regular breaks, modifying hours, starting to do regular exercise, managing heat or using a cleaner or gardener at home to reduce your fatigue.

There are also many other strategies available such as:

  • equipment to make your job easier
  • financial assistance to access services, treatment or therapies
  • simple processes to help you think more clearly
  • and many more...

Seeking new employment

If you’re not currently working but you would like support to seek employment, we may be able to help you identify suitable employment, apply for jobs, write a resume and practice interview techniques.

We can also arrange further assessments to review physical or cognitive limitations.

Once you’re employed, we’re also here to support you to stay employed.
